U.S.-Italy Relations in Times of Political Uncertainty

At a time of great political uncertainty around the world, the Italy-United States relationship has seemed untouched. But with rapidly changing governments in Italy and a sometimes non-linear foreign policy in Washington D.C., analysts have been looking at the growing tensions – both political and economic – between the European Union and the United States in the hopes of seeing signs of the direction in which their relationship is headed.

Speakers:

Dario Fabbri is a journalist, scientific advisor and coordinator for the Americas for the Italian geopolitical magazine Limes. He is an expert on the Americas and the Middle East.

Moderator:

Ken Shulman is a veteran print and broadcast journalist whose work has appeared in The New York Times, Newsweek, The New Yorker, National Public Radio, the BBC, and PBS. Ken spent 15 years in Italy covering European soccer, culture, and politics. He is the author of non-fiction books on art conservation and astronomy, and believes himself to be the only American who speaks the Logodourese dialect of the Sardinian language. He is a two-time RTDNA Edward R Murrow winner for excellence in broadcasting, and was named a Champion of Justice by the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers.
