Speakers:
Marisa Frasca, poet and translator, is the author of Via Incanto and Wild Fennel (both published by Bordighera Press). Frasca serves on the advisory board of Arba Sicula, a non-profit that preserves, promotes and disseminates the Sicilian language, literature and folklore. Born in Vittoria, Italy, Frasca resides in Manhasset, New York.
Maria Lisella is the sixth Queens Poet Laureate 2015-2018. Twice nominated for a Pushcart Poetry Prize, her collections include Thieves in the Family (NYQ Books), and two chapbooks, Amore on Hope, and Two Naked Feet. She curates the Italian American Writers Association readings, contributes to USA TODAY, the bilingual La Voce di New York and The Jerusalem Post.
Jennifer Martelli, co-poetry editor of Mom Egg Review, is the author of My Tarantella (Bordighera Press) and the chapbook After Bird (winner, Grey Book Press open reading). Her work has appeared in Verse Daily, The Bitter Oleander, and Iron Horse Review (winner, Photo Finish Poetry Contest). She is a recipient of the Massachusetts Cultural Council Grant in Poetry and co-curates the Italian American Writers Association readings at I AM Books.
IDEA Boston is an Italian-inspired festival celebrating authors, books and culture, and organized by independent bookstore I AM Books, situated in Boston's North End neighborhood.
